Nothing brings me joy quite like an amazing beach session does! During the months of March-July, I set aside a limited number of dates to offer sunrise and sunset sessions. These sessions are the dreamiest! Here are some questions I typically get asked about these sessions:
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Anyone who is able/willing to get a little sandy! These sessions are especially great for couples, family, maternity, friends, or even individual portraits.
WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT?
Be prepared for a more intimate session. You will play, snuggle, and ultimate make memories together. I always try to get in one or two traditional "smiling at the camera" but the majority of images I deliver have a candid, documentary style look.
If you're doing a family session with children, please let me know how many and what ages so that I can bring along a few props!
In the event of rain, we will reschedule to the next available date.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
First, always wear something you are comfortable in.
Choose clothing that compliments those areas of your body you love best and draws attention away from those areas you like the least. For example, if you arms are a difficult area, incorporate a cute jean jacket, shawl, or bell sleeve top into your outfit.
Flowy dresses/skirts photograph beautifully at the beach. Comfortable showing off a little leg? Wear one with a slit.

WHAT COLORS SHOULD WE WEAR?
Personally, I am a fan of color so I LOVE how jewel tones look against the water - red, blue, purple, orange, and yellow.
If you want soft/airy images, I recommend pastels or nuetrals - white, grey, light blue, and soft pink.
Decide on a color scheme and try to coordinate the colors within the scheme. Some couples like to incorporate colors that would match the decor of their home, while others coordinate with the time of year or location of their session.
Try to limit prints and patterns as much as possible. For couples my rule of thumb is one print/pattern (typically mom).
DO WE HAVE TO GET WET?
Not at all!
While I never force anyone to get in the water, depending on the type of session, getting into the water brings so much life to your images!
If you plan on getting wet, be sure to bring towels and a change of clothing for afterwards.
